Frequently Asked Questions
Accounts and acceptance
Which terms do I accept?
Every authenticated user accepts the User Terms. An admin or moderator accepts the User Terms plus Admin Terms. A publisher/dashboard operator accepts the User Terms plus Publisher Terms. Account-free WordPress provisioning records Publisher Terms acceptance for the installation.
Do I accept every time I open an app?
No. Acceptance is saved to your Zeeker account by document version. Zeeker asks again only when a required document has materially changed or you first take on an additional role.
Can I decline?
Yes, but you cannot continue authenticated use that requires the agreement. You can still read policies, adjust cookies, submit reports and rights requests, sign out, and use available export/deletion paths.
Is the Privacy Policy “accepted”?
The gate links and acknowledges the Privacy Policy, but privacy notice acknowledgment is not consent. Optional cookies, marketing, and processing that legally requires consent use separate controls.
Content ownership and AI
Who owns what I post?
You retain your ownership. The User Terms give Zeeker a broad, perpetual, sublicensable license for permitted uses, including public distribution, commercial licensing, and AI/ML. You can grant that only for content you own or are authorized to submit.
Are Zeeker’s rights similar to Reddit’s?
The public-user-content license is intentionally broad in similar categories: worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive, transferable and sublicensable, with copying, adaptation, derivatives, distribution, syndication, identity attributes, and AI/ML rights. Zeeker separately excludes clearly nonpublic content from public-data products and general-purpose training.
What happens after deletion?
Zeeker removes content from active controlled surfaces within a commercially reasonable period, subject to copies others made, limited backups and legal records, de-identified aggregates, and models/derivatives created before deletion. Supported tombstone signals are propagated to controlled recipients.
Does Zeeker train on private chat?
Private messages and clearly nonpublic content are not included in public-data licensing or general-purpose training. They may be processed to deliver chat, protect safety and security, comply with law, and improve those protected functions.
Can I post a full news article because it is public?
Not unless you have permission or law allows it. A public page or link does not transfer the publisher’s copyright. Share the link and limited context instead.
Publishers
Can a white-label integration omit the Zeeker name and legal links?
Yes, if the Operator has a current white-label entitlement. Its public interface may use the approved Operator brand and a neutral Legal & privacy link to an Operator Legal Hub instead of Zeeker branding or links to Zeeker’s legal portal. Zeeker’s Publisher Terms, applicable order, and DPA still govern the private relationship with the Operator. If a direct Zeeker feature or applicable law requires identification, the necessary disclosure must still be made.
Does an Operator need to draft and enter a complete legal package?
Not by default. Zeeker can automatically prepare and publish an Operator-branded legal hub from the verified domain, Operator or community name, authorized contact, enabled features, region, and maintained standard templates already available in the service. Acceptance of the Publisher Terms authorizes the initial managed publication, so there is no separate questionnaire or approval step. The Operator reviews the live hub promptly, corrects anything inaccurate, and provides only a legally required fact that cannot be derived. The Operator can instead use its own legal URL.
The managed default reduces setup work, but it is not legal advice or a universal compliance guarantee. The Operator remains responsible for the accuracy of its identity and configuration and for requirements specific to its audience, business, and locations.
Why not link white-label visitors directly to Zeeker’s policies?
Zeeker’s policies govern Zeeker’s relationship with the Operator and any direct Zeeker service. They do not by themselves identify the Operator, govern the Operator’s community, explain all Operator-controlled cookies and data uses, or provide the Operator’s contact and reporting routes. A white-label public surface therefore uses an Operator-branded hub, while the private Publisher Terms and DPA allocate responsibilities and data rights between Zeeker and the Operator.
What must the Operator Legal Hub contain?
It must provide or link to the Operator’s terms, privacy and cookie information and controls, community rules, reporting and rights routes, and a working Operator contact. The standard managed hub can supply that structure and managed request routes. The Operator still decides requests and fulfills duties for processing it controls.
Does white-label presentation change who is responsible for personal data?
No. Branding does not determine data-protection roles. For eligible data processed only on the Operator’s instructions, the Operator is controller/business and Zeeker is processor/service provider under the DPA. Zeeker remains independently responsible for the limited processing identified in the DPA and Privacy Policy.
How can a publisher opt out?
Use the publisher form and select the affected uses: crawl, index, snippet, media, cache, AI/RAG, training, analytics, or licensing. Include the domain and exact affected URLs.
Those selections document the requested scope for review and the case record. The current automated safeguard applies either a domain-wide resource restriction or a domain-wide image-only restriction. It may therefore stop more Zeeker activity than the publisher requested; this deliberately favors preventing further use until a narrower reviewed control is available. Zeeker communicates the restriction actually applied in the case.
Why does Zeeker verify publisher authority?
Verification prevents a stranger or competitor from removing a legitimate publisher’s presence. Zeeker may use domain email, DNS TXT, .well-known token, connected account, or proportionate documentation.
Does robots.txt grant Zeeker a license?
No. It signals access preference. An allowed crawl does not waive copyright, contract, database, privacy, or TDM reservations.
What machine-readable rights does Zeeker consider?
Named and wildcard robots rules, robots/X-Robots directives, TDMRep tdm-reservation and tdm-policy, license/attribution metadata, relevant trust/content signals, and verified case restrictions.
Will Zeeker bypass a paywall?
No. Zeeker does not intentionally circumvent paywalls, logins, CAPTCHAs, IP blocks, or other technical access controls.
Privacy and cookies
Does Zeeker sell my personal data?
Zeeker does not sell personal data for money. If an advertising or measurement disclosure counts as sale or sharing under a broad law, you can opt out and Zeeker honors legally recognized GPC signals.
Can I reject analytics?
Yes. Where prior consent is required, analytics stays off until you opt in and the accept and reject choices are presented equally. Where law permits an opt-out model, analytics may be enabled by default, but you can turn it off at any time from the Cookie page or the Legal & cookies control in a Zeeker app. Zeeker keeps optional analytics off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
How do I access or delete my data?
Use Your Privacy Choices or in-app account controls. Zeeker verifies the request and explains exemptions or appeal rights.
Is account deletion immediate erasure?
No. Zeeker first restricts/deactivates the account and completes a verified deletion/anonymization workflow subject to security, legal proof, safety, backups, and content-license rules. A request confirmation states what was deleted, de-identified, or retained and why.
Moderation and safety
Can I report without an account?
Yes. The Request Center is guest accessible.
Can I appeal a moderation decision?
Yes. Include the decision reference or URL. Where required, an eligible appeal receives qualified human review and remains available for the statutory period.
How do I report intimate imagery?
Use the urgent NCII/TAKE IT DOWN category. Do not upload the image to the public form; provide the Zeeker URL and factual description.
Is Zeeker an emergency service?
No. Contact local emergency services for immediate danger, then report to Zeeker for platform action.
Legal contacts
Who handles India grievances?
Deepa Balasubramanian is Zeeker’s Grievance Officer. Use the India grievance form or email legal@zeeker.com. Postal and telephone details are in the Regional Notice.
Where should I send a copyright notice?
Deepa Balasubramanian is Zeeker’s designated website recipient for copyright notices. Use the copyright form or the contact details in the Copyright & Takedown Policy. The separate US Copyright Office directory registration has not yet been verified.
Admins and developers
Why do admins have separate terms?
Admins can access user and moderation data, assign roles, configure imports, and make consequential decisions. The supplement covers authority, least privilege, confidentiality, consistent moderation, privacy, rights, and incident response.
Does API access authorize AI training?
No. API access alone grants neither ownership nor model-training rights. A separate written authorization must expressly cover AI/ML use.
When does the DPA apply?
Only when an eligible organization controls the relevant processing and Zeeker acts as its processor/service provider. Zeeker remains an independent controller for account, safety, legal, platform-moderation, and product-wide operations.
