September 8, 2026 YouTube services update
- Added the required YouTube Terms acceptance statement to the User Terms and links to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
- Explained the public YouTube API data Zeeker uses, its short retention limits, and that Zeeker does not request authorized YouTube account data.
- Clarified that a YouTube-hosted thumbnail can make a request before player activation, while the official player loads only for visible muted autoplay or a user playback action, depending on the surface.
- Removed speculative YouTube and Google video-host preconnections from Zeeker page shells.
- Documented the publisher-image preview rule: Zeeker may remotely display the exact HTTPS image URL supplied in RSS or Open Graph metadata with publisher attribution and a direct article link, while honoring explicit image restrictions and verified opt-outs.
- Preserved the exact 2026-07-29 User Terms.
August 2, 2026 white-label update
- Added a contractual white-label entitlement that permits an approved Operator Experience to omit public Zeeker branding and Zeeker legal-portal links and use one neutral Operator Legal & privacy link instead.
- Added a managed Operator Legal Hub default based on existing verified configuration, maintained templates, selected features, and regional settings, while preserving Operator review and fact-specific responsibilities.
- Required Operator terms, privacy and cookie disclosures and controls, community rules, reporting and rights paths, and a working Operator contact.
- Clarified flow-down content and data rights, moderation, safety, privacy, cookie, request-handling, and legal-hub continuity duties.
- Added a white-label processing schedule to the DPA and a matching narrow branding exception to the Developer Terms. White-label presentation does not itself change data-protection roles or guarantee compliance in every jurisdiction.
- Preserved the exact 2026-07-29 Publisher & Embed Terms, Data Processing Addendum, and Developer Terms.
July 30, 2026 contact amendment
- Published Deepa Balasubramanian as Zeeker’s India Grievance Officer and designated website recipient for copyright notices, using the dedicated legal mailbox.
- Disclosed that the separate US Copyright Office directory registration remains unverified and that the website designation alone is not a federal safe-harbor claim.
- This contact-only amendment does not change a versioned user, admin, or publisher agreement.
July 30, 2026 analytics-control clarification
- Clarified that optional analytics uses prior opt-in where consent is required and may use a default-on, opt-out model where law permits.
- Confirmed that users can turn analytics off at any time, saved choices remain respected, and GPC keeps optional analytics off.
- This clarification does not change a user’s existing analytics choice or make Terms acceptance consent to analytics.
July 29, 2026 launch
- Created a central legal and safety portal with guided FAQs and request routes.
- Added separate user, admin/moderator, and publisher/embed terms.
- Added a broad user-content license, including public-content syndication, commercialization, and AI/ML, while preserving user ownership and separating third-party publisher rights.
- Added versioned account-backed acceptance evidence.
- Added shared, region-aware analytics controls and a cross-app cookie preference.
- Added public privacy, publisher, copyright, illegal-content, appeal, India grievance, NCII, child-safety, and law-enforcement intake.
- Added a distinct privacy-rights decision appeal category with prior-decision evidence.
- Added publisher rights/provenance, machine-readable reservation, attribution, verification, opt-out, removal, and appeal commitments.
- Added public-content licensee safeguards and private-content exclusions.
Superseded, acceptance-bearing text is preserved in the policy archive.
